Hello! I have over twelve years of nannying and babysitting experience with kids of all ages. The youngest children that I have taken care of were just a few months old, and the oldest children that I have taken care of were between 12 and 13 years old. I have been a nanny and babysitter for multiple families since I was a teenager with successful results every time. My most notable nannying position was for a single father of four children. The children relied solely on their father and myself, as the mother was not in the children's lives. On an average week, I worked for the family twice a day every day (before and after school). In addition to my weekly work, the father that I worked for would take weekly business trips one to two weeks out of the month, so I was the sole caregiver. I acted Read more as a stand-in parent; I performed my weekly duties as well as preparing dinner, bath time, house cleaning, dishes, laundry, observing chores, driving the kids to extracurricular activities, and basically monitoring the children's activities and playing at all times, then sleeping at the home once the children were put to bed. My standard duties include preparing meals, getting children ready before school (packing lunches, getting dressed, making beds, brushing teeth, preparing backpacks, etc), as well as getting children off the bus after school (having a snack, assistance with homework, enforcing daily reading requirements, ensuring the children performed their daily chores, and then monitoring their play time once their daily duties were completed.) I am an especially great help with homework because I have been a private mathematics tutor for 8 years and counting (I have a BS in actuarial science with minors in math and finance.) In addition to the daily essentials, I enjoy doing fun activities with the children. In the past I have been known to take children to the park, take them on picnics, go to local ponds and feed ducks, take them to amusement parks (occasionally with the additional assistance and supervision of the parent(s)), attend baseball games, visit indoor jungle gyms with rock climbing and bouncy houses, go bowling, play at arcades, take them swimming, go see movies in the theaters, and anything else one could think of that a child would enjoy doing! So, while I am indeed strict with the daily activities and chores that need to be completed, I am always in favor of having lots of fun once that's all done.
