Marie and I connected months ago, and agreed to re-connect when she was nearing the end of her current position. We did re-connect, spoke in full detail about what I was looking for and what she was looking for. I filled her in on my baby girl's recent issues with ties in her mouth (lip, tongue, buccal ties), and let Marie know that due to her needing speech therapy, I would like that to be my focus for now until Marie can start with her. She let me know she would be available mid-August. She sent me her resume, encouraged me to call references, and sent me her background check. The last step was for us to meet in person. She cancelled on me the same day, telling me she had to work. I told her I understood, and asked when we can reschedule. She said she would "get back to me", since her son was home from the army and she wanted to spend time with him. I reached out several days later, and asked if she knew when we could meet. At this point, we were nearing mid-July, and I needed to return to work in August. She casually lets me know in a text that she accepted another position. My frustration is not that she accepted another position nor that she was seeking other opportunities. I know that is the reality of finding a job, and one has to keep their options open and make the decision that is right for them. My disappointment is that Marie strung me along for months, and was not honest nor had the decency to even let me know working with us may not have been what she was set on. I feel like someone who truly cares about the well-being of children would not do this, communicating with a mom for months and then giving her a slap in the face via text message. What a shame.

My family and I recently moved to NWI and besides leaving the wonderful Southside, we also left behind our fantastic Nanny, Marie. Marie has worked for us, in our home, for nearly 2 years. She is beyond reliable; capable of handling a variety of situations, including caring for the kids when they are sick. She is tough but fair, kind and straight forward. I own a restaurant and work EVERY WEEKEND and she has never failed to be available. She has been a full time nanny for years and has worked with us since my kids were 3 and several months, and I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but she leaves the house in a far better state then when she enters. I don't know what I am going to do without her. I highly reccommend Marie for families with multiple young children who need lots of love, attention and for a Mom of those little ones, who need some helping hands in all areas.

Marie has been the 2nd mother to my kids since coming to work for us. I couldn't have been blessed with a more caring, gentle and reliable nanny for our family. She has kept our family afloat since I went back to work full-time, and is worth so much more than I could pay her! I honestly couldn't have done it without her! She does SO much for us and is an amazing cook! She takes the kids to & from school, their activities and on play dates. She does their laundry, cooks for them, and makes sure their homework is done when I get home from work. I have not had a more reliable and caring sitter in my home. She is always calm and cool with the kids, yet firm. They adore her, and ask daily if she will be coming. We love Marie, and will definitely be seeing her on more of a part-time basis. She has become a family member, and we love her dearly. (Due to my husband's increased work and travel schedule, I have decided to stay home with the kids.) I am so very thankful that we have met Marie (& it was through sitter city.com). Anyone would be beyond lucky to have her in their home! Feel free to call me anytime, I'm more than happy to speak about Marie. Megan Riordan - 773-297-9724
