Meet Tika

• Comfortable with pets

I have been taking care of my siblings since the age of 14. Helping my mother around the house with things became natural. I began to notice how much I loved spending time with my brothers, and watching them grow. Making them laugh and keeping them active are some of my favorite things to do. Preparing food, including snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have also worked with children with disabilities through Hepzibah, which helped me understand that every child's needs are important as well as different. I love learning what each child likes and sometimes they teach me more than I expect. My goal is to be able to help parents like I helped my mother. To gain some more knowledge on children and their development I engaged in courses at school to advance my understanding. In addition to the classes and my personal hands on experience at home, Read more I volunteered at multiple afterschool programs to help with games and activities for the kids. Mostly from schools that I attended when I was younger. One of my favorite things to do is go back to my old schools and participate in sports events. I have always loved sports, and being a student athlete is something I encourage for children of all ages.
