Kathryn’s Bio

I have been around children my entire life. Growing up, my mother cared for children in our home. As soon as I was old enough I began babysitting the neighborhood children. In high school I babysat for one family exclusively and got to experience the addition of a new baby! For the past eight summers I have been a nanny for a wonderful family; I began when their children were five and eight-years-old. Unfortunately I am no longer needed, as they are old enough to care for themselves now. I am sure the constant presence of children in my life influenced my decision to become a teacher. I was a Presidential Scholar at Illinois State University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This school year is my third year teaching. I am a preschool teacher in an elementary school based program. The program is for at-risk students in the community. I find it to be a very rewarding job to see the pride and sense of accomplishment in a child when they learn something new. I feel that my education and experience make me an ideal nanny who can help support the development of your child.
