I was super disappointed that Lesleigh never showed up to work after she did a trial week with our family. We decided to offer her the job and expected her to come the following week to start working for us. She did not give any indication to me that she would not be coming the following week, in fact she told me that we would see her next week. However, over the weekend she didn't reply to two texts I sent her. I thought that was odd but decided to wait and see if she would show up because the texts were unrelated to her coming the following week. However, she did not show up and never texted, called or emailed to explain why. A week has passed since this happened and I have been debating if I should write a review or not. But I decided that other moms should know this if they are thinking about hiring her. While I actually thought she could be a good fit for our family it turns out that was not the case. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and I would expect to be contacted and told that she was in fact not coming or interested in the job. It is just common respect and maturity that I expect from anyone and especially from someone who you are trusting to care for your children. I noticed that someone else wrote a similar review about her not showing up for an interview. Clearly, I chose to ignore that review but wish I hadn't as it's hard enough finding a good sitter and exposing your kids to several before finding the right one is also no fun.

Lesleigh gave a great phone interview, so I arranged for her to come for a paid 2-hour working interview. I was supposed to text her our address the night before the working interview--but, with the chaos of 2 kids, I failed to contact her until an hour before she was expected here. There was no response, even as I called and texted three times. She never arrived or even responded to the call and text messages. Obviously, I should have been in touch the night before. And I would've totally understood if she said she wouldn't be able to come by because I didn't send her our info in enough time. I'm not sure why she didn't just follow up when she didn't hear from me the night before. Surely, as a babysitter, she would understand how distracted a parent can get. In the end, I hope nothing bad happened that's preventing her from responding. And I hope she's more reliable with other families, because she seemed like a great sitter over the phone interview.
