I have been working as a babysitter/nanny for a little more than 10 years. I first started as "designated babysitter" for the children who were in attendance at my father's church. Over time, I became a permanent babysitter for most of those families. I also spent 5 years teaching the Children's Church and Youth Group classes there, twice a week. These children ranged from newborn to 14 years old. During this time, I was able to develop fun and creative ways to teach the children and engage them in all that we were learning. During this same time, I was a babysitter to my oldest nephew (now 10 years old), while he was 2 - 4 years old. I spent many weekends at my sister and brother-in-law's house, giving them time to relax and helping with my nephew. I spent much of my time with him doing crafts, playing outside Read more at the park, and singing (on of his favorite activities). From 2012 - 2013, I was a part-time nanny for my 5-year-old niece while my sister-in-law was finishing her nursing program. This included; pick-up & drop-off at school, meal prep, overnight stays, housekeeping, etc. I still babysit from time to time, whenever my sister-in-law may need me on the weekends. I moved to Chicago 3 years ago, after graduated from college, and immediately entered the administrative professional world. When I moved her,e my intention was to work to make my passion for theatre, a possibility. I am lucky to say that I am making strides in that area, but my daily 9-5 in the office is wearing me thin. I would love to continue working with and caring for children -- there is so much reward that comes with being able to aide in the facilitation of young creative minds.
