I have been taking care of children since I was 13 years old. It was my first 'after school' job for a couple of kids just down the street from my parents house, and I was with them for a school year and some summer days. Ever since I was a little girl, I was attached to children. I always wanted to care for them, watch after them and make sure they were in good hands. Upon graduating high school and into my first year of college, I nannied for a summer for a 9 month old baby boy. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a bachelors in Theatre Performance. Which is the reason I moved to Chicago in the first place. I've lived here for 2.5 years and being a child care provider has been my full-time job. I went through an agency called KGrace and Read more was placed with a single mom and her two young boys. I was with this family for 1.5 years until the mother had unfortunately lost her job. I grew to love those boys and their mother like they were a second family. I helped potty train the youngest and I helped the oldest with his homework when he came home from school. I would occasionally pick the boys up from school and would also do an overnight stay when their mother had to travel on business. From there I went on to watch a one year old girl who's mother decided to go back to work. I was only with her for less than 2 months, because again one of the parents lost their job. From July until now, I have been with two families (a nanny share). There are three girls - A four year old, a two year old and a one year old. I have all three every Monday and an occasional Friday. The rest of the week, the oldest is in school. I also have taken care of two different sets of twins! One set was only 2 months old, and the other were 2.5. I'm certified in CPR and first aid. I truly believe that picking the right person to take care of your children is one of the most important decisions to make. You want to make sure they are under the best care and to find someone that can truly become a part of your family.
