As do most parents, I like to find my sitters through other friends and personal contacts. That said, I was reluctant to go through Sitter City to find a new sitter for my boys so that my husband and I could go out on an occasional date night out. I could tell from Stephanie's profile and personal letter to me that she had a great background and was more than qualified to watch three boys for a few hours. Then after chatting with her on the phone I she really seemed as though she would be a great fit. Then I called her references who could not have spoken more highly of Stephanie. I explained that my "go to" sitter just moved to Colorado and she expressed her extreme sadness that her "go to" sitter, Stephanie, left San Francisco for Chicago to attend graduate school. All t's crossed and i's dotted, but what would she really be like? WOW! We were impressed from the second she walked in the door. Stephanie had my boys attention immediately. The way she spoke to them, validated their feelings, and even took charge when I was still there was impressive. She was very comfortable with them and they with her. I walked out for the eveing feeling very confident things would go smoothly. When we arrived home, she complimented us on our boys and shared all the great games and activities they played. I am so happy to have found Stephanie and confidently recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their kiddos. We look forward to having her back again and again.
