My name is Rebecca and I live in the South Loop of Chicago with my four-year old son, Miles. I have been a caregiver for a total of 6 years and have experience with children from ages 3 months to 5 years. I have a background in Psychology from DePaul and the majority of my work experience before I became a mother was in healthcare. When my son was young I was a stay at home mom and I took care of children in my home in other people's homes. Now my son attends preschool everyday and so I am looking to nanny or babysit for nice family outside of my home. I am also working part-time towards obtaining my patient care certification (PCT), one night weekly. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I enjoy them as babies and helping them go through different developmental stages such as learning to walk, talk and become little people. It is truly amazing how fast they grow. I provide a safe, fun, clean and nurturing environment for the children in my care. I like to keep the kids busy during the days with playtime and developmentally stimulating activities; such as tummy time, practice walking, reading stories, playing games like hide and seek, or making arts and crafts. When the weather is nice I try to get outside as much as possible and take the kids on walks to the park. If parents have a play group they like the children to attend I can take them. I know the importance of keeping children on a schedule and so I try my best to have healthy meals, snack time, and also naps, (depending on the age of children), at the same time every day. If I am caring for a little baby, I am familiar with the importance of keeping logs of times of naps as well as ounces and times of feedings. I will do light housework such as dishes and laundry and I always make sure to clean up after the day. Through experiences, I know each family is different and I am definitely always open and respectful of the different needs of each particular family. I like to keep the channels communication open with the families I work with regarding all issues related to the children and my care so that I know how to provide the best possible care that the family needs and expects. Rebecca would be a perfect fit for someone looking for an invested nanny, she will let you know how the kids are doing and ask questions to stay on the same page with the parents. She is open to changing her methods to suite the parents style and she is very easy to work with. I appreciate her honesty and her genuine care for people - my kids love playing with her and miss her. We still have Rebecca babysit when we need her.

Rebecca has been my full time nanny for almost a year. She has cared for my son since he was three months old. She has been a blessing for our family. She has always been on time, provided a clean learning environment (no pets, no smoking), and followed the nap and meal schedules I provided. She has helped my son with various milestones within his first year such as tummy time, grasping, crawling, speaking, and walking. We have always had an open line of communication and often spend time with our kids in the neighborhood when she is not working. It was extremely difficult for me to return to work after my maternity leave. I assume many Mothers feel this way. Rebecca helped me feel at ease by providing me with daily updates, logs of meal and nap times, and new progress and developments week by week. There have also been a few occasions that my husband and I needed to work a bit later than our scheduled pick up time, and with very little notice she has always been more than understanding. Most importantly, she has always cared for my son like she cares for her own. My Mother recently retired and will be able to watch my son part time so I will no longer be using Rebecca as a full time nanny. However, I will still request her as a babysitter. I would recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for a reliable and caring nanny for their child.
