Hello! My name is Astin and I am a born and raised Hoosier! I am moving back to Ft. Wayne after spending the past year in London getting my master's degree in Music Business Management and Artist Development. For the past 8 years I have worked as an artist manager/publicist for Chicago-based singers and bands. I'm extremely good at scheduling, staying organized, and multi-tasking under pressure. Despite all of my work with the music industry, I have always been involved in helping out with children's activities. Before I was able to get a real paid job I volunteered at my church nursery. Eventually I became the music director of Vacation Bible School at my church and was able to teach children ages 5-10 music and choreography to be performed at a showcase later in the week. My first paid employment at the age of sixteen was at a day-care watching children Read more of all ages and I continuously babysat for my neighbor's children all throughout high school. I am lucky enough to have two nephews (14 and 5 years) and two nieces (8 and 3 years) who I am extremely close with. Because of this, I am very good at dealing with children in any age range. In addition, my niece is special needs and requires extra care and attention that I have been well-trained to handle. I am used to watching at least three children at a time and have no problem working with specials needs children as well. As I have been raised in a very artistic home, I like to see children express their creativity and find what they are passionate about. I appreciate letting kids be kids, but have no qualms about using proper discipline if it is necessary. I believe in having fun and working hard and that's what I typically like to convey to the children I work with. I also believe that every action I take sets an example to the children around me and that I must always be a good role model for them.

Astin works at my daycare, shows up early, is present and super dependable ALL DAY LONG. We work as a group of staff with a group of kids under age 2. I enjoy Astin, and I trust her ABSOLUTELY.

We just started using Astin for occasional baby sitting for our 4-year old and 15 month old and we are very happy so far! Our kids love her and she is very flexible and dependable. She also picks up our 4-year old from pre-school since I can't make it there in time due to work schedule. Today was our her first day and it went very well. We hope that things continue on this positive path!
