My name is Tracie. I graduated from Lake Forest College in May with a BA in Psychology and minored in Neuroscience. I have not had any formal training in taking care of children, however, I have had a great deal of experience babysitting children of all ages through the past 12 years. I have helped significantly in raising my three younger brothers (ages 13, 14, and 18) as well as caring for my twin cousins, now 4, since they were first brought home from the hospital. I have also had experience babysitting for two families of two on a regular basis over the summers and during the school year while in high school. I regularly babysat for two families of four during this time period. While in college I was a mother's helper for twin 2 year old boys and a newborn. I was also an after school babysitter for Read more a family of four, although, I usually only had the responsibility of an 8 year old boy and 11 year old girl, although there was also a 2 year old boy and a newborn baby boy. I love children and finding new and fun exciting ways to interact and with them. I believe that it is very important to do activities that promote healthy behavior (e.g., outdoor activities like going to parks and beaches or playing in the yard) as well as reading and listening to music and many others that do not include television and computer time. I am also able to do light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and meal prep and clean up. I also have my own car which makes reliable transportation a non-issue. My most recent job, since graduating, is as a Pediatric Behavior Therapist for children with ASD. At this job I work with children ages 2-10.
