Hello! My name is Karen and I am looking for work as a child care worker or private babysitter / nanny. I am a certified teacher (K-8) with many years experience in education, most of those in Special Education. I am also the parent of two successful, well-adjusted young adults (ages 22 and 24). I was (and still am) a positive, active, involved parent. I loved being a mom! I was was team mom, room mom, and Cub Scout den leader. I am a huge advocate of reading - I read to my sons from birth, and the results have shown in their successes. I recently left the business world and have decided to return to work that holds more meaning to me. My most recent child care experience has been helping my godson and his wife with their children. They have a 15 year old son with Downs, a Read more five year old daughter, and a two year old son. Did I mention they also have two dogs? It is an active, busy household and I manage it well on the occasions that I am in charge there. I am open to any and all child care responsibilities, including transportation. I am also open to light housekeeping, errands / shopping, and meal preparation. My goal is to become an extension of the parents or employer that I work for, helping them to run an organized, happy home or day care.
