Being the eldest child in my family, I have had the pleasure of watching over and caring for my younger sister and cousins since the day they were all born. As I grew up, I was immediately utilized by my family members as the "family care taker" and I am extremely thankful for that as it taught me responsibility, patience, and problem-solving skills at a young age and the caretaking skills I acquired while still young have only progressed into my skills today at age twenty. For the past two summers, I was a nanny for a hard-working family with two boys where I cared for the two boys three days a week from 8am to around 4:30pm. I happily drove them to the library, cooked lunch (grilled cheeses are my specialty), helped them with their summer homework, appropriately let them know when to be ready for their music lessons, Read more went to the pool, movies, etc. with them, and it was a blast! Kids, however, grow up though and they are getting old enough to be independent! I also have babysat families here and there whenever needed. I just simply love talking to younger kids and listening to all the whacky statements they have to say. I've learned that everyday is different when there is a child in the room, and I love it! I have treated every child and baby that I have babysat in the past as if they were my younger sister and brother, creating a personal connection with them through jokes, play, crafts, and sit-down time and I will always continue to do so! Boredom is impossible when one is a nanny and that is why I love being a nanny so much.
