I have been babysitting since I was just a young teenager. I have one younger brother who was born when I was 7 years old, and I immediately adapted the 'mini mom' trait. When I was old enough to watch over him (12-13 years old) I would watch when my parents were at work and as I got older I started watching him on certain nights, after school, weekends and all day during the summer. I then began babysitting for families around the town and became the "town babysitter" and loved it! I love working with children because they are so fun to be around, energetic and full of life. It's the kind of job that never gets boring or old, I always have a blast. There's such something so wonderful and enjoyable about working with kids, seeing them grow and transform throughout the years. I have worked as an evening childcare provider during PTO meetings at my brother's school up until I went away to college, a volunteer for Sunday School classes(Kindergarten), as well as an assistant teacher at KinderCare. My favorite part of child care is getting to know each child and creating a bond with them. I love to bake/cook, do arts and crafts, be/play outside with kids, I enjoy recreational activities and sports(I played softball during childhood so I love getting outside and being athletic), I also enjoy creating/playing new games with the children. My goal with any babysitting job is to keep the children happy, entertained, and having fun while parents are gone, while also ensuring safety as a number one priority. I always make sure to follow any guidelines or instructions left by the parents, and to be respectful of those wishes. There have been more times to count that I have left a babysitting job where the kids don't want me to go home they were having so much fun or they get bummed when their parents return for the same reason. Those are the relationships I love the most with the kids I watch because you know you have gained their trust and have established an incredible bond with.
