Eleven years of experience working with children in one-on-one and group settings. I have worked with youth from infancy to young adulthood. I have a strong background in social-emotional development and working with children who have special needs. I also know basic Spanish and am currently working on becoming fluent in Spanish via Rosetta Stone. I currently work as a Head Start teacher and have two years of teaching experience. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration in education back in 2013. I am presently finishing my Master's degree in political science with specializations in international affairs and policy. I have some international work experience in Australia. I am very active in volunteering and love being outdoors. I deeply value education and make an effort to instill this in the children whose lives I touch. My approach is to help all children develop into well-rounded individuals Read more despite in differences in ability, income, or nationality/language. I emphasize fun, hands-on educational experiences while also coaching children in pro-social skills to enhance their social-emotional development. I love to travel and often teach about other countries and cultures. Moreover, I make a point to instill courage and confidence in young girls and believe in early exposure to STEM to close the gender gap in this field. I promise not to discuss politics with your children unless on request. :-) I am currently looking for a temporary child care position while I finish my last semester in graduate school and relocate to the DC area. However, if I find the right family I would be open to remaining with them for a few years until returning to school to get my doctorate in quantitative statistics. I already have housing arranged in the DC area and can move to the area beginning in June. I am working on locating employment in the area so that I am able to finish my transition to the DC area.
