I started my journey into child care when I began babysitting at age 12. At 18, I was a live-in Nanny for a year before doing office work. After receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology, I began taking Early Childhood Education courses and got my first after-school teacher's assistant job in 2004. It wasn't until I began working with babies and toddlers that I realized this was my passion! I have over ten years experience with young children. I find that my talents lie in being the silly, gentle, and loving caretaker for young children. My goal as I interact with young people is to treat them with the same respect as I would an adult. To listen to them and understand them. To provide security, safety, emotional well-being, and nurture a life-long curiosity and desire to learn. My philosophy of childcare is influenced by RIE ( Respectful Infant Read more Environments), Montessori, Regio-Emilia and Creative Curriculum. I delight in getting to know the children in my care, figuring out and appreciating their particular temperament, interests and talents, and guiding my teaching approach to best fit them!
