I am a 23 year old Optometry Student living in Big Rapids. In 2015 I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University with high honors, and spent three of those four years working in the medical field as well as being a full time student. I am intelligent, motivated, hard-working and very organized. During high school and my first summer after starting college, I nannied for 2 families each with 2 children, full time. Both families lived in subdivisions in which the kids had many friends to play with, so often I was responsible for 6 to 8 kids (ages 6-11) throughout the day. I had a wonderful time planning fun outings, setting up things to do indoors on rainy days, and playing with the kids outside. I am a very active person and very much enjoy being outdoors, and know that I have the energy to keep up Read more with kids who are go-go-go! I also have previous experience babysitting for families with infants and toddlers on a part time basis (nights or weekends as needed throughout the year). During college, I had the privilege of caring for a very special child with Down Syndrome who is now 10 years old. He taught me more than I could have ever taught him, and absolutely loved the time we were able to spend together. I also have experience in tutoring elementary, middle and high school students in a variety of subjects. Additionally, during my time at Michigan State, I was an undergraduate learning assistant and taught courses in Biology. Since I was a teenager, working and interaction has become my joy and passion. I hope to specialize in pediatric optometry after I complete my schooling, and cannot wait to have a family of my own. I am certain that I can provide a fun, loving, and positive atmosphere for whatever family I am blessed to care for. Due to my responsible and organized personality, as well as my background in the medical field, I will provide parents with the assurance that their children are not only safe, but happy and well cared for as well.
