I have long enjoyed working with children. I have worked as an overnight summer camp counselor in Wisconsin, where I was in charge of overseeing a group of 10-year-old girls. My responsibilities included planning activities for the 12 girls, making sure everyone was safe and having fun, and acting as a mediator when problems arose between them. I also became a friend when they needed someone to talk to or an authority figure when it was time for them to listen and be serious.
