I am pursuing a professional nanny career because I want to be a reliable source for a family in day-to-day life. I enjoy creating lasting relationships with families. I understand that life can be hectic and want to be a support by tending to details and tasks that parents may not have time for. I obtain satisfaction from parents knowing that their children are safe and well taken care of when they must be away or at work. I also enjoy building relationships with the children I nanny in order to help them grow and learn in positive and nurturing ways. As I pursued higher education, I knew that I wanted to work with children and families in some capacity. I hope to work in a positive, family-centered atmosphere and have realized that a professional nanny career fits both my interests and capabilities. I have a BA in English and Read more Secondary Education. I am also certified to teach grades 6-12 in Illinois. I am looking for a stable and long-term nanny position. I aim to build a trusting and respectful relationship with a family to attend to household duties and care for the children as long as I am needed. I recognize that children need consistency and would value a long-term position. I am located in the North suburbs of Chicago and plan to move to the North side of Chicago in the next two months. I have had many babysitting jobs and two nanny positions. I was a nanny for four boys from 2005 - 2010 in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The boys ranged from newborn to thirteen years of age. I would nanny on weekends during the school year and Monday - Saturday every summer, as the parents both worked full time jobs. This position ended in 2010 because I moved away to college, but I am still in contact with this family and have a good relationship with them. My more recent nanny position was with a family in River Forest, Illinois in 2014. The parents worked from home and needed a nanny to watch their son and do some household cleanup during the week. I worked for this family Monday - Friday. The child was eighteen months old when I started this nanny position. I really enjoyed working for this family. Another noteworthy experience was as a Resident Assistant for Northwestern's summer program for gifted kids. I was part of a team supervising 40 children ages 7-10. I tended to their emotional, educational, and social needs during their stay at Northwestern. Please refer to my resume for additional job experience.
