Although my account info says my address is near Chicago, Illinois, my husband and I have bought a piece of property in North Carolina and are in the beginning processes of building. We are looking forward to this next season in our lives, but first maybe I should let you know how we have come to move to North Carolina. As a young adult when some visitors came to my church talking about Trinity Bible College, I knew God was telling me this was where he wanted me to go and get a higher education. After graduating with an office administration degree, I immediately went to work at Hillcrest Children's Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. There I worked as the social services secretary and met my husband. We moved to the Chicago area after he finished his volunteer work at Teen Challenge because he was a union carpenter and that Read more is where he could find work. Shortly after we moved to Chicago I was asked to be the youth pastor and children’s pastors’ secretary at the church we were attending. After about a year I was also asked to be the administrator’s secretary. I loved everything about the work I did from arranging travel plans, to inputting the tithe information, to creating bulletins, and everything in between. I worked there for about 5 years until after I had my second child. We then move to Northern Illinois where we became foster parents and eventually adopted one of our foster children. We began the homeschooling journey and had one more child. So now 20 years later we are almost ready to be empty nesters. I still love the idea of investing in the lives of others and feel I would be a good fit as a nanny.
