I have been a Nanny since 1986 and this has and will be my only career choice. I really enjoy working with infants and toddlers, watching them learn and grow. All of the children I have worked with in the past have been infants, usually 8 to 12 weeks old. I always fromed a special bond with them. I have worked in daycare centers before. However, being a Nanny is so much better for me because I am able to give one on one attention to the child. I do not have any children of my own but, I do have 2 one old cats and one four year old dog, who I love with all my heart. I volenteer at the shelter once a week. I help with the cats. I clean out their cages, take them out to a play area, give them some attention and play with them. I really enjoy being at the shelter. Read more When I work with a family, I have an open mind, listen to what the family wants, maintain open communicatation and respect their beliefs. Infants and Toddlers are like little sponges, taking everything in. They learn through touch, taste, being read to, being talked to and singing to them. They learn by going on walks and naming everything you see. I think this should be a part of their everyday life.
