I started babysitting when I was 16 and fell in love with it. At the age of 18, I became a Sunday School teacher of nursery children ages 4-6 with a class of 21 with one assistant and I continued to babysit through the week. Four years later I moved up to ages 10-12 and had some of the most rewarding times in my life thus far. We did arts and crafts everyday, read bible stories, played games, and learned new songs and dances. When my sister-in-law had her 2nd child she needed a nanny and offered the job to me. I had her children from the newborn stage to 6 years old and the youngest is now 4 and she no longer needs a nanny. Before moving I would hold Princess Parties once a month for the girls in our area. We did many arts and crafts, we played Read more outside, we played games, and did science experiments. We have pamper nights but most of all we share stories, whether good or bad and it provides a sort of family for the girls as many of them had endured some tough circumstances. Often times they would help me make dinner. We have study time for the older kids and reading time for the younger ones. I was sad to leave them but God has a place for us and right now it is here. I am currently a nanny of two boys (2 & 1) and I bring my own son (8 months) to work with me. This has been great for everyone involved. I work for a wonderful family and have been since June 16, 2014 but their circumstances will be changing soon so I am looking to start babysitting in my off hours. I will provide letters of recommendation upon request.
