I am married, and a mother of four kids. Three boys and one lucky little girl, although she may not always think that way! My oldest boys are 13 and 10 with my youngest boy getting ready to turn 5 on the 4th of July. My daughter will also be celebrating a July birthday and be turning 7. I have had a passion for working with children for as long as I can recall. Starting at 13, I enrolled in a babysitting course and became the trusted sitter of the cul-de-sac. So once I was accepted to the University of Southern Indiana it was a no brainier for me to chose my career path. I graduated with both my B.S. and M.S. in Elementary and Special Education. My true focus was working with children who had special needs. I spent about ten years in various public schools within this area Read more teaching children with diverse needs. My specialty was working with children who had mild to moderate disabilities,as well as, children with severe emotional/behavioral disorders. My absolute favorite area being students with Autism. I soaked up as much knowledge as I could on sensory issues and ways to incorporate sensory activities within our classroom. I ended up being able to take some time off when my youngest son was born prematurely, and during those years had the chance to work with a few families taking care of their children both with and without special needs. The ages ranged from 6 wks to 13. I am currently looking for a family and/or center in need of a compassionate, reliable nanny/sitter for children of any age. My husband works late afternoon and evenings, so my days are normally free. I have my own transportation, pets are no problem, and I am first aide and CPR certified. I also have experience with feeding tubes, breathing machines, and light housework and meal prep aren't a problem. I hope to be considered for the type of caregiver you are looking for, and open to any questions I may not have answered for you!
