I have over 20 years experience starting with providing in home day care while my children were young. Then I was a lead teacher at a Montessori Day Care facility for thirteen years. I also was the Assistant Director for three if those years. Since leaving the day care, I have been a nanny for two separate families. I feel one of my greatest assets is my patience with children and I love being a part of helping children develop and building relationships with families. I currently live in Illinois but my husband's job is transferring to their Indianapolis location on October 10th so I am looking to find employment to start then or soon after.

My son is usually shy around babysitters and doesn't ever want to leave my side. We've had problems with finding sitters because he gets so upset when he knows I'm going to go away for a while. He's gotten comfortable and calm with a couple of sitters with whom he's able to trust and have a lot of fun. Sherry is just that type of person! She immediately got down on his level and talked to him directly about the trucks he brought with. She engaged him instead of trying to pacify him which is exactly what he needs. I was encouraged to contact her because of her background in Montessori education and it was very rewarding. When we left he was calm, he played happily while we were gone, and when we came back he was sleeping. Perfect!
