I am a college graduate (BA in Early Childhood Education) with 4 years of childcare experience, working as a nanny and a preschool teacher. I also have over 5 years as a Sunday School Teacher from newborn to first grade. I have cared for children from 6 weeks and up. I am CPR/AED and First Aid trained, CLASS certified, and have been trained in Touchpoints. I have worked for two families as their summer nanny. The first family were 3 girls; 3, 5, and 10 years old. The second family had a boy (5 years old) and a girl (7 years old). Standard duties included; dishes, children's laundry, cooking three meals a day, cleaning up after children, drove children to activities, planned events for children, over all care of children, and provided private tutoring and study tools. I currently work as an Early Head Start teacher and center director. I Read more have worked there for 2 and a half years. Responsibilities include lesson planning (which promote all levels of development; social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth), organizing, and directing all aspects of the classroom (which include routines, transitions, meal time, nap time, potty training/diaper changing, large and small group time, and parent meeting) for zero to three year old children. My classroom has always included a set of twins (my current set of twins have been with me since 6 weeks old) I am also responsible for our site/all classrooms when the supervisor is not on site. Maintaining ratio, talking with upset parents, handling minor issue with in a classroom or with the teachers, and paper work. Children are very important to me; I especially believe that their early years shape their lives. I focus on early stages of life because children can quickly find a love for education and knowledge. They learn how to interact with others, and how to explore the world around them. I am passionate to facilitate their learning and growing to the best of their abilities. I believe children learn through play, supervised interaction, and socialization. Overall, I want to help children grow and they put a smile on my face. I accept and adapt to whatever children bring, the good and the challenging. Respect, communication, trust, and loyalty are my primary values. I have a respectful understanding that the parents are the primary educators and caregivers for their children. Their values and desires need to be heard and understood, as well as implemented to best of my ability.
