My name is Ashlyn Sklenar. My mother has owned and operated a daycare since 2008. Since then I have constantly dealt with children. I have been a "date night" sitter for four families over the last 5 years, and a full-time summer nanny for one family with two children. (references available upon request). I am certified in CPR for adults, children, and infants as well as first aid and use of an AED. I also have certification for safe sleep for babies (in order to do everything possible to prevent SIDS) and recognizing head trauma. Fortunately, I have never been in a situation where I needed to use these skills, however I feel very confident in my ability to do so should an emergency occur. About me: I am nineteen years old, and I am from a small town in southwest Kansas. I moved to Lawrence in august of 2014 to start my undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas. I declared my major as Behavioral Science, but have recently decided on a different path. I will be finishing this year at KU and then transferring to KCKCC to obtain a degree in Mortuary Science. I am currently employed with the Kroger company at the Kwik Shop here in Lawrence. My current job is not really working out for me, I just really don't enjoy it. Although it was nice to get some experience in retail, I've decided that I don't really need retail experience so I might as well do what I like and what I'm good at until I get my degree. As far as my availability: I will be available for a nanny position starting in April. I will just need time to give my two weeks notice.
