I fell in love with child care during my first experience as a nanny, in which I cared for several children with intellectual and developmental disabilites. For the past 14 years I have enjoyed working with both typically and a-typically developing kiddoes, from infants to middle-schoolers. After serving the Lawrence public school district as a special education paraeducator and providing extensive in-home care for several families, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science with specialty areas of early childhood education and early childhood autism intervention. I am certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and first aid. I purpose to provide an environment that fosters fun, safe, exploratory learning and imaginative play. I am definitely a kid at heart, and nothing brings me more joy that engaging in play of any kind with any child. I thrive in situations that allow me to get to know each child and their specific needs and characteristics on an individual basis. I love to make each child feel special, heard, and validated. Other duties that I have performed over the years include house-cleaning, meal preparation, potty-training, designing adaptive learning materials, administration of medical care, designing and implementing behavioral, physical and play therapies, transportation, and pet care.
