Four years ago I entered Illinois State University as an Elementary Education Major undergraduate. I knew since I was very young I wanted to be a teacher, but it wasn't until my first summer in 2010 at Round Lake (Illinois) Park Distract Summer Camp that made me realize how much I loved working with kids! I started as a substitute my first summer but within two years worked my way up to a Director position. I worked at the Director position for two summers, which job responsibilities include: getting to know 100+ kids and parents, planning field trips and special events, and managing staff and behavior in the camp. Other than my summer job, in the last 4 years I have worked at a Before and After School Club and Little Jewels Daycare. In the daycare I got about 3 months experience in an infant’s room where I would help Read more with scheduled nap, feeding, and diaper changes. I also graduated from Illinois State University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in May 2014. This makes me qualified to teach children from ages 5-14 (Kindergarten-9th grade). This past year I made the move to Manhattan, Kansas and was unfortunately unable to find a teaching job. So, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend my time with a loving family. I nannied two kids at the ages of 4 and 1. This was my first time nannying full time, but I loved it so much and grew really close to the family. We hope to keep in touch, no matter where life takes us. I’ve found that nannying children is such a personal experience, that it often will turn into a life long relationship. Some more about me, I currently live in Manhattan, Kansas with my boyfriend who is finishing up his masters in architecture. We are excited to see what our future brings and where we will be living after the summer according to his new job! I love anything creative. I enjoy crafting and painting. I played on my high school soccer team all four years in high school and continued to play internals while in college. I am in shape and love athletics and being active. Most of all, I am a positive person and love to have fun!!
