I currently work for Starkey which is a company that assist intellectually disabled adults to have a meaningful life to teach them how to tie their shoes make their bed brush your teeth any and all personal and self-help skills that they can do alone I will assist them in those tasks. What I love about my current position is watching the person that I take care of finally accomplish a task and do it all by themselves. I have worked for child start Head Start for over 15 years this is where I work closely with parents and teaching them how to parent there three to five year old preparing them for mainstream Public School. I provide the role of assisting here and healthy menus different types of activities to encourage their children to use their imagination to use their small or large motor skills in their own intellect Read more and allowing them to explore themselves also giving resources to parents in the areas that they are needing support and going back to school getting into the workforce or changing jobs wherever they are in life and helping them to establish and exploring their goal. I am a mother of six children ages 26-12. The same approach that I take on my job I tried to incorporate with my family which is a little bit more intense because they are able to comprehend and perform the personal tasks without any assistance but taking the time out to learn each child individually is the major challenge. I'll look carefully to find out what that child is gifted in or enjoy and I will support their choice completely. In every position that I have up including being a parent a single parent I've learned how to not put my own personal feelings or beliefs upon the person but allowing them to teach me how to see an alternative to my own choices and witnessing the Milestones of accomplishments and experience are all my greatest accomplishment personally and professionally
