I have always loved caring for children, but I didn't have as many opportunities for caregiving while I was in school. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music, and I had a minor in education. I am a very creative and artistic person, so crafts and other related activities are my forte. Now that I'm graduated, my schedule is very flexible, so I can work with any time restrictions that parents or guardians need. I have been a lifeguard for 4 years, where I work with children every day. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. My most extensive caregiving experience was a 10-day vacation where I was a live-in nanny for two families (6 kids total - 2 3-year-olds, 1 5-year-old, 2 10-year-olds, and 1 11-year-old). I also have extensive experience in church nurseries and children's groups, where I have been helping out for about 10 years. I have Education experience from college, so I am very comfortable around a variety of ages. I may not have a lot of specific caregiving experience, but I am a fast learner and I love working with children. Almost everyone I know would say that I am a hard worker and typically go above and beyond what is asked of me. I have always had positive work experiences, and all of my former supervisors would say that I am a good employee. I was successful in school because I am pretty good at things once I set my mind to them. I know that I don't have a lot of experience, but I have a lot of work ethic and a lot of heart, and more than anything, I love helping people.
