I am passionate about working with children. I have always loved working with and around kids of all ages. I started babysitting when I was twelve but had plenty of experience around kids prior to this as I have a younger sister, lots of young neighbors growing up, and my dad is part of a large family and I loved learning to help care for my cousins. I recently nannied for a family for 4.5 years but moved away once I got married and could no longer care for them. I have a degree in family science/social work with a psychology minor, however, I was previously in school for elementary ed. and have experienced being in the classroom as well. I also used to volunteer for a program called Read To Succeed in which I mentored a child each week in reading and comprehension to get them on reading level. Read more I think reading from a young age is really important and is a skill all children need to master. I am dedicated to nurturing children in whatever way you see fit and upholding all schedules and rules established in your household. I have cared for children needing medications and who also have allergies and am sensitive to their needs as well. I am hands on and active with the kids I care for. I’m outside playing sports, helping with homework, building legos, etc. I’m up for anything they want to do!
