I graduated from Davidson College in May 2017, following which I was awarded a Watson Fellowship: a prestigious grant which enables recipients to pursue an independent project outside of the United States for one year. Thus, during the past year, I have had the amazing opportunity to work with young children and teens full-time in schools and homes across the globe! This year, I am a certified, bilingual fourth grade elementary school teacher for DISD. More about me: I come from a large family (5 siblings in total), I played Division 1 soccer in college, and am very adventurous/ spontaneous/ active (I love hiking, camping, skiing, and all sports!) I'm very easygoing, creative (love creating games and arts/crafts) I always have a smile on my face and love a good laugh. In terms of experience, I have babysit on a weekly basis for families in Louisville and North Carolina for Read more almost 10 years (and even before that, helped take care of my own siblings!) I have also been a full-time nanny for families of my hometown (Anchorage, Kentucky) for the duration of several summers. I am fully capable of preparing meals, doing housework, partaking in fun and interactive activities, driving kids to and from commitments, helping with homework (even tutoring) and much more. My experience with children is not limited to just nannying and babysitting. I have been a high school Spanish tutor for over 4 years and have tutored other children in math (algebra, geometry, basic math, etc), chemistry (general, organic), basic sciences and worked as an essay tutor. Additionally, I volunteered as a primary school's girls soccer coach and was a first and fifth grade Spanish teacher at Davidson Elementary School during my years at university. During 2 of my summers at university, I lived in Nicaragua, where I spent the days mentoring vulnerable youth, ran and organized soccer clinics, and taught English classes to young children. As you can see, I am extremely passionate about helping children succeed and aiding them in reaching their highest potential! Training: CPR and First Aid Certified; Bilingual (spanish + english, learning German), have taken child development classes, nutrition and education classes
