Having spent years at home raising my own children as a stay at home dad, I have seen firsthand how important great childcare can be to the formation of a child's identity and future success. When I returned to the corporate world, what was most important to me was to find someone who had a kind heart and who could interact with my child in a loving way. I wanted someone who was able to engage my child's curiosity and teach them, in an age appropriate way, the wonders of their world around. I wanted someone who understood the value of letting my child create their own imaginary words by engaging in free play. And most importantly, I wanted to know that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, my child was safe and in the care of someone who was able to handle any emergency situation that may arise. What Read more I wanted in a caretaker are now the very things I myself, having now left the corporate world, am able to provide as a caretaker of children. I have almost completed raising my own children, with only one out of the four remaining at home. From diapers to daycare, from daily breakfasts to preparing lunch, from sports to prom to graduation and beyond, I have experience both laughter and tears with my own children and as a result raised healthy, stable, fine gentlemen who are engaged with the world they live in. As a former teacher certified in grades 1 through 8, I am able to provide parents with the assurance that age appropriate learning will be integrated in the tasks of daily life of their child while they are also given time to do their own thing, whether that be a teenager hanging out in their room or a young child engaged in free play. As a former medic who has dealt with all ages of people in some of the most vulnerable times of their lives, I can offer parents peace of mind in knowing that their child's caretaker knows how and when to react in an emergency situation. As a certified CPR instructor who works in the community teaching others the skills of saving a life, I am quite prepared to look out for the health and safety of their children. I have realized, after wearing many hats in a diverse array of industries, that my purpose in life is to help people, whether they be new to the world or a Mom or Dad needing a hand caring for their child(ren). My parents taught me to treat people with love and kindness. I look forward to doing the same with your bundles of wonder and joy!
