Hello! My name is Chelsea, and I'm a 22 year old student currently pursuing a degree in early childhood education looking to earn money while gaining more experience with children. I have 2 nieces and a nephew, who I love to bits. Whenever I am able to see them, I always make sure that they are having a great time, and they always tell me how much they look forward to seeing me again whenever they have to go. I do not have any children of my own, but I am the happy mother of a cat. (Mentioned for allergy purposes; his fur gets everywhere.) Ever since I was in high school, I knew that I wanted work with children and I can't see myself doing much else. There, I assisted in caring for children who ranged from birth to 11 years old. I also have several years experience of being a part-time live in nanny for a doctor living in my area. At this job, I took care of one child, a young girl, from age 6 to age 9. I provided child care and transportation to and from school as well as other extra curricular activities. This position also included light house keeping, meal prep for the child based on the parents' requests, help with homework/tutoring occasionally, and outdoor play and crafts. Currently, I am working at a childcare center where I am in charge of a classroom of 7 toddlers, ages ranging from 1-2, and I'm occasionally responsible for supervising and caring for 3 and 4 year olds. In this position, I create weekly lesson plans for my class which include crafts, outdoor activity, circle/story time, fine motor and sensory activities, sign language lessons, and more. I am also, or course, responsible for taking care of the personal hygiene needs of my class (ie. diaper changing). While this is a job I really enjoy, I am searching for a position under someone or somewhere better suited for me. As far as my personality goes, I am told that I am a very enthusiastic and kind individual. I work well under pressure and I am very cautious. Safety for children is always my top priority, and in order to be sure that parents maintain peace of mind, I prefer to have a very communication-heavy relationship with those around me. I am detail-oriented and always eager to learn. And last but certainly not least, there is nothing that makes me happier than working with children.
