My name is Helen Allday. I graduated from college in England with an N.N.E.B (National Nanny Education Board) degree in 1980. I am CPR Certified, After working as a charge (short term) nanny with several families in London my dream to travel and work in a foreign country became a reallity. My very first full time professional nanny position was in Dallas, Texas. The family had four children under the age of seven. Unfortunately the family did not honor their contract so after one month I decided to leave. Savyon, Isreal was my next destination. This was a live in English teaching position for a family with two children. After completing the contract I moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to care for a seven day old baby. Over the next ten years the family grew to six children, the last addition was twins. As a live in nanny all of Read more the children were in my care six days a week, twenty four hours a day. All aspects of the childrens daily well being, nutrition, meal planning, daily activities, school, homework, extra circular activities, Doctor and Dentist visits, hospital stays, sick days from school, shopping for clothes, shoes and groceries, transportation to and from all activities, and travel with the family were my responsibility. Originally this position was contracted for twelve months but lasted for ten years. I found my next nanny position with a family who lived only two miles from my home in LaPlace Louisiana. I cared for one child as a daily nanny for a little over twelve years. My most recent family had a new born baby to care for. Duties and responsibilities for both of these positions was very similar to the New Orleans nanny position. I did however begin teaching basic sign language to the newborn in my care at five months. onderfull career has laste I am CPR certified, and have a little knowledge of basic sign language. I live in LaPlace, have been married for twenty five years, have a daughter in her second year of college, and own two dogs.
