Hi Mom! My name is Shade (pronounced Shaw-day) and I'm 28 years old. I recently earned my Master's in Public Health and have a bachelor's in English from Columbia University. I'm happy to help with homework and can tutor for all subjects, except math more advanced than Trigonometry. I could also help with college applications and essays. I'm also fluent in Spanish because my childhood babysitter taught it to me. I'd love to return the favor! I'm very active, outdoorsy, healthy living oriented, and I'm also a pretty good cook. If you'd like me to pack lunches, make healthy snacks, or even try my hand at making dinner for the whole family when you're crunched for time, it would be my pleasure. I like inventing games, biking, heading to the lake/park/insertoutdoorsyplace, finding kid-friendly events to attend, and doing yoga and arts and crafts on rainy days. I began babysitting when I was still a kid myself with three children--ages 5, 3, and newborn. I watched them grow up and worked for that family until I graduated high school. From there, I babysat in college for school aged children, infant twins over the summer, and an autistic and loving little boy until his family moved. I've never been let go of from a job and have been honored by each of the times I was given the opportunity to be part of someone's family. My younger brother has special needs and I have a lot of experience with the disabled community. I've learned a lot about various programs, physical and occupational therapy techniques and can help with increasing independence.
