I have raised my six children , three girls and three boys. I currently have eleven grandchildren which I have had a large role in their raising. I am active in kayaking, reading, gardening , baking, planning and providing children's activities and parties. I love the outdoors, playing games, teaching crafts and promoting children to use their imaginations. Children are a large part of my life and I believe in positive parenting . I have not been a professional nanny but am making a career change. My professional career has been thirty years in human services working with children with either developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis and educating and supporting their parents/caregivers. I have been certified in first aid, CPR and MAP ( which is being certified to over see and pass out medications ) previously and able and willing to become re certified. I love working with children Read more and spending my time with them. I am caring, patient , have a fantastic imagination for ideas and understanding. I enjoy doing activities and enriching their lives. I believe in supporting each families culture . I am the family storyteller and educator for my immediate and extended family. I educate them on the history , stories, songs, dances of our culture which is largely Native American . I am flexible with my availability. I am a home owner and would be respectful to your home. My attitude when I enter into someone's home is to treat it as I would like my home to be treated. I enjoy house cleaning and would be able to help in this area. I am a mature and youthful woman. I have been a strong and positive role model to children. I have won many awards throughout my career for my strong and positive work with children of all ages. I also supervised and was hands on with a youth group for teenagers for nine years. We did recreational trips/activities, taught appropriate social skills, self esteem building, computer skills and volunteer work in their communities. I am comfortable supporting any and all faith based religions. I have also worked with several families that their lives are guided with nature based beliefs. I love animals. I am comfortable with most animals as long as there are no safety risks.
