Meet Julie

I graduated from Western Illinois University with an Art degree.   In addition to art, I took classes in Early Childhood Education and participated in preschool volunteering for three semesters. I worked as a Chicago Public School certified substitute teacher in 2003-04.    For one month, I worked every day in the same classroom as a first grade substitute teacher for Bright Elementary School.  Much of other time teaching was spent in early childhood classrooms.   In the summer of 2009, I volunteered at the Children’s Museum in Chicago where I assisted children of all ages in various learning activities. I also babysat my niece from the age of 3 months to 2 years on my free time. I moved to New York last year  and  just moved in Boston this May and trying to get back into the classroom to teach young children.  The past 5 month I worked for Sittercity in NYC with two Read more families part time. One was a 10 year old girl and the other a six year old girl. Was responsible for picking up for school, making them snacks or dinner, helping them with school work, getting them ready for bed and just being there for them as a friend.
