I just recently moved back to New England from Baltimore, after 15 years away to spend more time with my family, especially my beautiful niece (almost 2 years old) and my nephew (almost 4 years old). I had moved to Baltimore from Chicago where I was a nanny for newborn twin boys monday through friday from 8am to 4pm. In Baltimore I worked another full-time nanny position for a little girl born in august 2011, until March 2, 2012 when she started attending daycare. I graduated from medical school, took my boards, started residency, but partway through residency, I decided I am more interested in research than clinical care (I also have an MPH in Epidemiology and many years of clinical and epidemiological research. Last week I was laid off from my research position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center due to federal funding cuts in research moneys. Therefore I Read more am currently available 24/7 seven days a week. Although I am very happy with my chosen career path and do not miss being on call (sleeping in my own bed every night is great!!!), it does come with the sacrifice of a far lower paycheck, and because of my $300,000 student loan debt, I now have the need to supplement my full time job with some part time work, (although because I am not currently working, I would like to nanny full time (whether for one family or part time for a few)). Since I love spending time with children, and as of yet have not had any of my own, I thought that babysitting and tutoring would be a great way to help supplement my income while having a great time!!
