My experience in child care comes from many places; first as a mother to seven successful professional young adults, then as Nana to five grandchildren, and finally as a MA. certified infant through preschool teacher at a local preschool. My undergraduate degree is in English and I love to read and listen to stories your children would like to share with me. I have a professional graduate degree as well. I have recent experience with newborns as my 11 month old grandson has stayed with me every Monday night and Tuesday since he was four weeks old. Also, I have experience with asthma patients as three of my sons were severe asthmatics; and allergy diets and EpiPen training, both at school and for my grandson with life threatening peanut and other allergies. We had students with speech/language issues, social services issues and a child whose parents refused to acknowledge the possibility that he might be on the autism spectrum thereby denying him valuable services to help him live up to his true potential. I did several of my professional development classes on the autism spectrum. Truly, I would have to say I am the worst cook you'll ever meet. I can prepare simple sandwiches and microwave food but you do not want me to prepare meals for your family. Most of all, my motivation is to partner with children to enhance their lives and learning not only now, but in the future as well, so they continue to learn and grow even as adults.
