My name is Ashley, and I'm a part-time teacher and trained opera singer, with decades of professional childcare experience, a Master's Degree, plus CPR, First Aid, and Med Tech certifications. I recently moved to Fredericksburg from NYC and Las Vegas, where I was the Director of Fine Arts and the Lead House Manager for a series of treatment facilities for adolescents overcoming behavioral and mental health challenges. I taught art across five forms (music, theatre, dance, visual art, creative writing) to 120+ children, while living alone with 3-6 at any given time, acting as their primary caregiver and surrogate parent in a transitional living facility (my previous role included healthcare first responder duties). Prior to this, I've taught at private elementary schools, have acted as Executive Director of two youth choirs, and have Read more arts administrative experience at a youth orchestra. My philosophy is simple: the positive development of children is vital to creating and maintaining our successful culture as a collective society. This was my first time not only using SitterCity, but also having a none family member watch our infant. I felt totally at ease having her care for our baby for the evening. She sent us updates throughout the night and was able to establish an instant rapport with our baby. It was as if she had been watching her for months, quickly figuring out her likes and dislikes without direction. I cannot recommend Ashley enough.

We had Ashley to take care of our kids when we went for a late night party. She was great to communicate with, very proactive. When she came in the evening , the kids got very comfortable with her instantly. She took great care of our kids and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Ashley took care of my 2 month old baby for a week and she was wonderful with him; she was attentive, safe and protective but also fun and entertaining... a perfect combination. As a first time mother I'm very careful about trusting someone with my baby but I never had to worry while my little one was in Ashley's care as she clearly loves babies, knows how to be there for them and has a natural way of relating to them. I would hire Ashley over and over again without any hesitation.
