The philosophy of my first place of employment was, “There is just as much dignity in being 1 day old as there is in being 40 old. Never forget that” It is my guiding principle in all aspects of my life. I consider each child a unique individual. I observe and learn his or her strengths. From there I develop activities that foster these strengths. An outgoing child needs a style of learning different from a more ‘laid back’ child. The learning is the same just with a different style of teaching. Each child will help guide a caregiver. I depend on the parents’ experiences with the child to help me to learn the techniques they have found successful for soothing the child. Children love have fun, to see, feel, sung to, be talked to and to talk to you if you stop and listen. Toys, art on the wall, Read more textures of the objects around them are all a part of the expanding world of a child. Muscle development is fun when you kick bright toys that reward you with a fun noise. This bond of care, fun play, and feeling respected, and having your needs attended to promptly, will help form a bond with the child. Childcare experts say that “learning to trust” is an infant’s most important challenge in his or her first year of life. I feel my job is to do my part in making that emotional connection. I am part of a care team that will work together for the physical, emotional welfare of this new person that has come into the world. I am head teacher qualified in both infant and toddler education. It means for me that I can tell where a child is developmentally and we can move forward to the next step in the development process at the child’s own pace. Using the child’s strengths, I am able to prepare activities that are fun. All humans love to achieve. I enjoy living a healthy lifestyle and walk about 15 miles a week. I love the outside and love exposing babies to its delights. Exploring the outside is a never-ending series of sights and textures and auditory stimulation. With your experience with your baby and my experience with other babies, I think we would make a good care giving team for your child.
