About Me: Between babysitting, nannying, teaching in Montessori and performing arts school settinv, tutoring, volunteering with youth groups, and working for a family shelter I have over five years of experience working with children of various ages. I love playing outdoors, reading books with silly voices, making crafts, and creating new ways to learn with children. My hobbies include dance (performing arts in general), cooking, baking goodies, hiking, skiing, and trying new things. My Experiences: At the Montessori School at Ken Caryl, I assisted lead toddler teachers by day and planned After Care programming in the afternoon/evening. Since the school's closing, I have been working as a nanny for families in the area. As the Program Coordinator for a Catholic Charities family shelter, I planned activities and programing for the children and youth who reside in the shelter. I developed a curriculum for volunteers to work with the resident children. Read more This included playtime activities, homework help, or utilizing the shelter’s “teen space” to relax and have fun in a developmentally stimulating atmosphere. On a daily basis, I also helped families who were struggling with behavior problems and school related matters. While a dance instructor for Boss Academy of Performing Arts, I was able to create meaningful connections with various students and spread the joy of performing with students of all levels. As a nanny/babysitter, I enjoyed working with families to create fun and engaging setting even throughout homework or scheduled learning times. My past experiences as a student, sitter and professional have provided me with the responsibility, patience and caring/loving personality to be a confident child care provider. I truly enjoy every job I've ever had that has involved working with children. I look forward to meeting new families and learning from more children. If there is anything else that you would like to know about me please do not hesitate to message me back with questions or to email me personally at carissatatem@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and effort in reviewing my qualifications! Best, Carissa T.

We had to find a sitter at the last minute. Carissa was available. She arrived early. She immediately bonded with our son. She was calm, caring, playful, fun, and responsible. Our son has ADHD and it is like pulling teeth to make him clean up his toys. When we got home, his playroom was wall picked up. Amazing! Carissa is awesome!

We have had Carissa for several months now for my two girls ages 3 and 6. Carissa is very responsible and reliable. She has a very calm and loving personality and is able to redirect the kids well. She is easy to communicate with as a parent and handles the kids wonderfully. She always follows the rules of the house and inforces the house rules all in a loving way. She assists with homework and loves crafts. The kids ( and parents ) look foward to having her every time!
