If your child asks questions, loves bugs and/or plants, explores the world around them, seeks knowledge, has unusual interests, takes delight in small things, avidly reads, is unique in any which way and gets along well with adults, we will probably be a good match. I also work well with newborns and toddlers. I have been doing childcare for a decade for kids of all ages in both domestic and professional settings. In childcare, my goal is to provide a safe and fun environment that can meet the needs of children and their families, and to hold an enriching space for cultivation and growth of personhood, communication, and articulation of needs and wants. I am adept at finding compromise between activities that are enjoyable, engaging and educational while maintaining the boundaries and limits set by elders. This can look like walking around the neighborhood, exploring art materials, playing or inventing Read more games, reading a book, asking questions, preparing simple foods, brainstorming to solve a problem, or having a dance party. I recently graduated from Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts, where I concentrated in organic chemistry and dance. I am hoping to continue to establish myself in the community and work closely with a family doing child and/or pet care. In my personal life, I make and observe art in multiple disciplines, read, write, and build community. I am inquisitive as I observe my surroundings and materials presented to me, processing this information through conversation and art. I am capable of making snacks and preparing meals, helping one-on-one with school work and concepts, doing light housework, diapers, and bedtimes. I am CPR trained.
