I recently retired after a decades long career as a preschool teacher and early intervention specialist. I have spent most of my life studying and then working with young children, infants and toddlers, and families. As a teacher, I worked to provide a warm, supportive classroom which fostered curiosity and active, hands on learning. The most important part of being a teacher for me was being an adult who was responsive and loving to the students in my classroom. I have also raised three children and am a stepmother to two adult children and four step- grandchildren, all of whom have provided opportunities to understand how children grow, learn, eat, play, and need care and attention. I am currently looking for child care work which works well with my current schedule, which includes occasional travel and my own interests (gardening, community work, hiking).
