Hola guys! I was a nanny to a great family for a few years and was blessed to see those lovely boogers grow up into bigger boogers! Lol. We hung out like best friends but they knew there was an acting sheriff in town. I believe in diligent follow-through, setting clear boundaries and holding these little people up to high standards; I've simultaneously worked with children with special needs (specifically Autism) for a number of years now and have yet to meet anyone incapable of being awesome! Love always finds a way! Believe me when I say I'm 100% still in touch with my inner child (she's a ball of fun)! Although I am big on holding these little people to high standards, I'm equally if not bigger on laughter and keeping things positive! I do not give up easily and I have a BIG sense of humor and can Read more absolutely handle anything you throw my way! (I'd be delighted to demonstrate!) I'm the kind of sitter your kiddos will have no choice but to love. I've worked with kids for most of my life, except for the brief culinary career. (I learned a lot, I can cook my butt off, but I prefer NOT to be married to a hot stove for work.) I'm known to get as dirty as the kids, but equally for cleaning to the point where you wouldn't think anything happened, if not for the pictures! Lol. I can help with homework, but probably not with math past the 6th grade because we'll both get it wrong. I love dogs, but not crazy about cats. I let a turtle almost starve to death once while housesitting and I've learned my lesson. ("Note to self: Feed the turtle.") As for my day-to-day life, I work full-time as an assistant teacher for the Boston Public Schools. I'm in an Autistic classroom setting with varying levels on the spectrum. My guys are in high school, so they're big boys, but we're all certified and trained to be in this setting to begin with. I love them to death on good or bad days and I profoundly enjoy seeing their personalities take precedence over their diagnosis. Love that! I'm getting my CPR/First Aid training re-certification soon. To wrap this all up, I'd be happy to work with you and your children and can't wait to meet you guys! -Oyoshy
