I am the daughter of a child care director. My mother started her own in daycare out of our home and for the past 12 years has been the director of TLC Child Care Center on Cape Cod. I grew up volunteering at the center, assisted in the classrooms as a teacher’s aide for children 3-5 years old, as well as helping with various field trips. I have experience in tutoring, babysitting, and in caring for foster children and some with special needs. My senior project was to work closely with the Kennedy-Donovan Center, along with Habitat for Humanity. At the end of my high school education, I was presented with the Christian Service Award for my work. After several years providing foster care, my mother adopted my brother, who is ten years younger. I was very active in his upbringing, which included teaching him basic American Sign Language. My Read more responsible and enthusiastic nature is shown by being selected for People to People Student Ambassador where I traveled to Australia. I tried many new things like rock climbing, sand tobogganing and repelling down a cliff side. I not only made lifelong friendships on that trip, but gained some valuable experience for my Biology degree. As an up and coming biologist, I am always looking for opportunities to educate children about their environment in new and creative ways. I am passionate about making learning fun for children, especially in nature. I love to find ways to share my joy and make them smile. I am flexible enough to work with children who have different interests, whether it's sports, science, theater, literature, movies, animals or music. I have participated in all of them and I grew up learning dance, gymnastics, basketball, field hockey, and tennis. I think my background provides me with an excellent opportunity to meet your child’s need wholeheartedly.
