Children and animals have been my life. I have taught preschool, music, and art to children 3-11 yrs. I worked at the Laurel School for Creative Education in Brewster, Mass. for many years. I have run a camp program from the farm I owned that included many outdoor activities and fostering a sense of compassion for each other and the many animals I sheltered. I was nanny to two brothers fresh out of foster care, ages 3 and 5 for 1 1/2 years. This was a challenging time as the boys had been through so much in their young lives. I directed a children's choir and composed the music. We were called "Heartstrings" and we performed for nursing homes, libraries, benefits of all kinds. This gave each child involved a sense of belief in themselves and being generous with themselves by sharing the gift of song with others. I play Read more the harp and guitar. I led our school daily in a morning meeting, which set the tone for the day. This meeting included children sharing thoughts, singing, and establishing a feeling of community. Children have been woven in my heart. I have 4 of my own, and am coming home to the Boston area where I grew up, so that we can be closer. I've been in Santa Fe NM for the past 8 years. I give to my work with children deep and joyful enthusiasm.
