Hi! I am a student in the Worcester area currently studying Psychology and Education at Clark University. I have always had a passion for working with children and I'm currently working towards a degree in Elementary Education. I worked for three summers at a fresh air camp in my area where I took care of my own cabin of 6 children ranging from ages 4 to 12. This was my first job working with children and I immediately loved it because we were always outside and active. During my high school career I babysat for a family with three boys ages 6, 8, and 12. I generally babysat for this family over weekends and I would play with the boys outside, cook them dinner, and take care of putting them to bed at night. During the time I worked for them I also held down a job at a restaurant Read more and ice cream parlor where I learned some culinary skills as well as how to deal with people in an environment where you are waiting on them.  I have also had experience working in an elementary school both as a tutor and a teacher's assistant. I've tutored children in fourth, fifth and sixth grade. More recently I have begun my teaching practice at a Worcester Public School, observing and teaching in a fifth grade mathematics classroom. Since my sophomore year at Clark I've worked with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. For those three years I've developed a strong relationship with my little sister. We both love to play soccer and I typically provide homework support as well. For two summers I worked as a soccer coach at the YMCA in Leominster, Massachusetts. Our team of coaches served children between the ages of four and ten. I'm comfortable communicating in Spanish and English and I love working with children in an academic setting as well as facilitating outdoor activities.
