Hello! My name is Angeles Ross and I am a Psychology and Sociology graduate from Florida State University. I live in Fairfax, VA. I was born in Peru, but grew up within the United States. I speak, read and write fluently in Spanish. I have a good grasp of basic French and am proficient in Italian. My first real nanny role was a part-time job with a 10-month-old - I began when she was an infant and have had years of previous experience with babysitting. Shortly after my graduation my sister gave birth, where I was asked to care for the newborn, aiding when needed or taking full care of her. I have quite some experience with children, yet not consistently due to having traveled to Peru almost every summer since I was a child, going abroad to Europe for a year, and then college. During one of my stays Read more in Peru I decided to volunteer in Cusco with children. This is when I found my true passion for them. Previously I had always cared for children, but here I learned to truly admire them as little scientists. I had just finished my Child Psychology course (I got an A!) and was able to put my education to the test as I watched the children play amongst themselves. With on average forty of them running around and me being one of the sole bilingual volunteer, I was constantly pulled from one place to the next, helping the children with their homework or activities for the day. I plan to go for my doctorate in clinical child psychology within the next few years, thus my interest in children is abundant. It’s a nerdy thing to say, but I love to learn, and - in turn - teach. My favorite times are when I have the ah-ha moment and then can turn around and teach that same material to someone who is also struggling. I would love to offer my Spanish skills to your children including reading and writing. I pride myself on my go-with-the-flow adventurous attitude that is simultaneously paired with a child-like energy level; my friends always refer to me as a puppy because of how much I want to "play". I'm an ENFP through and through, along with Latin! SO, if you want your children to learn some salsa moves, I'm all yours!
